Marine solid-state DC circuit breakers set a new record for single order value

Recently, Astrol Electronic AG (hereinafter referred to as Astrol), a subsidiary of SUN.KING Technology, received an order of more than RMB 20 million (CHF 2.5 million) from Kongsberg Maritime of Norway. The order involves 30 Astrol marine solid-state DC circuit breakers, setting a new record for the amount of a single order for this product.


Kongsberg Maritime of Norway will provide a full set of DC hybrid electrical systems for its customers' 10 platform supply vessels (PSVs). Astrol's solid-state DC circuit breakers are one of the key devices in the DC hybrid power system.

With over 30 years of deep technical accumulation, Astrol is an international leader in solid-state switch technology. Astrol has not only obtained Norwegian (DNV GL Group) and Chinese (CCS) classification society certification, but also obtained British Lloyd's (LR) certification in August 2024. At the same time, Astrol has carried out extensive cooperation with many leading domestic and foreign companies in the field of ship electrification, such as Siemens, ABB, and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, and has achieved dozens of successful results. In addition, Astrol's solid-state DC circuit breakers and solid-state AC switch technologies have also achieved outstanding results in the fields of controlled nuclear fusion, high-energy physics research, and smart grids.


In order to plan for the future, Astrol has begun the research and development of new technologies such as 1.5KV energy routers based on silicon carbide modules to prepare for the rapid development of new energy power and energy Internet.
