The Power of the Atom, Endless Exploration | 2025 Nuclear Power Plant Electrical Maintenance Experience Exchange Seminar

Date: 2025-12-18

On December 11, 2025, the 2025 Nuclear Power Plant Electrical Maintenance Experience Exchange Seminar, themed “The Power of the Atom, Endless Exploration”, was grandly held in Wuhan, China. The seminar was hosted by the Nuclear Power Operation Technology Committee of the China Nuclear Energy Association and co-organized by China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Wuhan LangPower Electric Co., Ltd.

The event brought together experts, scholars, and technical professionals from nuclear power operating companies, research institutes, universities, and equipment manufacturers. In-depth discussions and industry dialogues were conducted around key topics including frontier technological challenges in nuclear power electrical maintenance, intelligent transformation and upgrading pathways, and collaborative industrial development mechanisms.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Fu Yu, Head of the Electrical Maintenance Specialty Group. Opening remarks were delivered by Huang Zhijun, Member of the Nuclear Power Operation Technology Committee of the China Nuclear Energy Association; He Fengjun from China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd.; and Chen Yong, General Manager of Wuhan LangPower Electric Co., Ltd.

In his address, Mr. Chen Yong expressed sincere appreciation to all organizations and partners for their long-term trust and support in advancing LangPower’s development and promoting collaborative progress within the nuclear power industry. He emphasized that, at this critical stage of intelligent and localized development in nuclear power operation and maintenance, LangPower Electric is committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities, deepening cooperation across the industry, and jointly building a safe, efficient, and intelligent operation and maintenance system for power equipment. He concluded by wishing the seminar great success and expressed hope that collective industry wisdom would contribute to the high-quality development of China’s nuclear power sector and energy technology innovation.

At the seminar, Sun Shenghong, General Manager of Jiashan Keneng and representative of Sun.King Technology Group Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote presentation titled “Applications of Pulse Switches and Pulse Capacitors in Controlled Nuclear Fusion and High-Energy Physics”. The presentation systematically outlined Sun.King Group’s technological expertise and engineering achievements in pulse power switches, pulse capacitors, and solid-state DC circuit breakers. These products have been successfully applied in multiple domestic and international nuclear fusion devices and high-energy physics research projects, demonstrating Sun.King Technology Group’s strong capabilities in independent innovation and engineering implementation within advanced power equipment for future energy systems.

Wang Yongjun, Product Director of LangPower Electric, presented “Chip-Based Intelligent Online Monitoring System for High-Voltage Power Equipment”, focusing on partial discharge monitoring technology based on chip-level and modular design. The solution features high integration, cost efficiency, and ease of deployment, enabling precise perception and intelligent diagnosis of insulation conditions, and providing an innovative approach to full life-cycle management of power grid equipment.

During the technical presentation session, He Fengjun, Professor-Level Senior Engineer from China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd., delivered an in-depth report titled “Grid–Source Coordinated Power Support Technologies in Power Systems”. Meanwhile, Zhang Jun, Professor and Assistant Dean at Wuhan University, shared a forward-looking presentation entitled “Frontier Technologies of Generative Artificial Intelligence and Their Applications in Power Equipment Operation and Maintenance”.

The keynote presentations highlighted the principle that scientific and technological innovation is the primary driving force for development. By translating complex cutting-edge technologies into accessible industry insights, the speakers effectively bridged the gap between technology and industry, providing valuable references for participants to understand technological trends and promote innovative practices.

The seminar featured two parallel technical sessions focusing on Online Monitoring of High-Voltage Equipment and Nuclear Power Excitation Systems, enabling in-depth thematic exchanges.

In the High-Voltage Equipment Online Monitoring session, Huang Wenxiong, Deputy General Manager of LangPower Electric, further introduced “Intelligent Monitoring Technologies for High-Voltage Electrical Equipment”. The presentation emphasized the application of multi-parameter integrated monitoring, edge computing, and artificial intelligence analytics in real operation and maintenance scenarios. Practical case studies demonstrated significant improvements in condition assessment accuracy and early warning responsiveness for nuclear power electrical equipment.

Through high-level presentations, specialized discussions, and technical demonstrations, the seminar successfully established a comprehensive platform integrating policy interpretation, technical exchange, achievement sharing, and industrial collaboration. Participating experts agreed that, in response to challenges such as equipment aging, technological iteration, and localization substitution, it is essential to further strengthen collaborative innovation, accelerate the development and application of new technologies and equipment, and jointly reinforce the foundation of safe nuclear power operation. The outcomes of the seminar are expected to have a positive and far-reaching impact on enhancing the operation and maintenance capabilities of nuclear power plant electrical systems, ensuring long-term safe and stable operation, and promoting high-quality industry development.
