On October 16, 2025, the launch ceremony for the mass production of capacitors for the ±800kV Gansu-Zhejiang UHV Flexible DC Transmission Project was grandly held at the manufacturing workshop of Jiashan Sun.King Power Electronic Capacitor Co., Ltd(Jiashan Sun.King). The event was hosted by Mr. Qi Gang, Deputy General Manager of Jiaxing Sun.King, in a solemn and inspiring atmosphere.

The ceremony began with a production mobilization speech delivered by Mr. Li Chengtong, Deputy General Manager of Jiashan Sun.King, who led all employees in a collective oath, showcasing the team’s determination and spirit of commitment. Following that, Mr. Deng Guangzhao, Deputy General Manager, outlined the key points of process inspection, setting rigorous operational guidelines to ensure production consistency and quality. Dr. Liang Fuping from the State Grid Economic and Technological Research Institute, representing the inspection team, delivered remarks on behalf of the supervising party, setting forth high expectations and quality requirements, reflecting State Grid’s strict standards for product reliability.

During the ceremony, Mr. Zuo Qianglin, General Manager of Jiashan Sun.King, delivered an important speech, citing the wisdom of Xunzi’s Encouraging Learning to illustrate Sun.King’s quality philosophy and the foundation of its craftsmanship:

3. Accumulate strength and achieve excellence. Enterprises must value continuous accumulation of technical      and process expertise, optimizing and passing down every operational      method to form a profound manufacturing foundation.

He encouraged all employees to take this mass production launch as a new starting point — to remain steadfast, carry the mission forward, and craft products of absolute excellence with unwavering dedication.

Amid the applause of all participants, Mr. Li Jinyan, Vice President of Sun.King Technology Group, solemnly announced:

“The mass production of Sun.King capacitors for the ±800kV Gansu-Zhejiang UHV Flexible DC Transmission Project officially begins!”

Immediately after, representatives from the State Grid Economic and Technological Research Institute, Changzhou Borui Power Equipment Automation Co., Ltd., CEPRI Power Engineering Co., Ltd., and Xi’an XD Electric Power Systems Co., Ltd., together with the Sun.King management team, jointly pressed the start button. The sound of celebratory salutes and thunderous applause marked the official commencement of this historic milestone.

The Gansu-Zhejiang Project is the world’s first 8GW full-capacity ±800kV UHV flexible DC transmission line, stretching 2,386 kilometers — a “power expressway” that efficiently transmits clean energy from Gansu to Zhejiang. As a key component of China’s “West-to-East Power Transmission” strategy and a landmark project for achieving the national “dual-carbon” goals, the start of capacitor mass production represents not only a major milestone in project construction but also a significant breakthrough in China’s high-end power equipment manufacturing.

For the first time, the capacitors used in flexible DC converter valves for this project have achieved full-scale domestic production, breaking the long-standing foreign technological monopoly and securing China’s control over critical energy components.

In this vital localization endeavor, Sun.King Technology has taken on the honorable and challenging mission of supplying 75% of the project’s domestic capacitors.
