On September 25, 2025, the disassembly and analysis witness and summary meeting for the type test prototype of the ±800kV Gansu-Zhejiang Ultra High Voltage (UHV) Flexible DC Transmission Project (referred to as the Gansu-Zhejiang Project) was successfully held at Jiaxing Sun.King Capacitor Co., Ltd. Representatives and experts from the State Grid UHV Department, State Grid Equipment Department, State Grid UHV Company, State Grid DC Technology Center, State Grid Gansu Company, State Grid Zhejiang Company, State Grid Energy Research Institute (State Grid DC Transmission Co., Ltd.), China Electric Power Research Institute, Xi’an High Voltage Electrical Research Institute, Xidian Electric Power System Co., Ltd., and China Electric Power Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd., along with leaders from Sun.King Technology, gathered both online and offline to witness this milestone moment in the localization of flexible DC transmission equipment.
During the meeting, participants observed the disassembly of the type test prototype, visited Sun.King’s dedicated production line for high-end DC support capacitors used in flexible DC transmission projects, and reviewed the type test summary reports for the two technical solutions applied in the Gansu-Zhejiang Project. Experts unanimously confirmed that both types of DC support capacitors designed and manufactured by Sun.King successfully passed all type tests, with test methods and results fully meeting the relevant standards and technical specifications. No abnormalities were found in either the factory tests conducted before disassembly or the component inspections after disassembly, indicating that the products have met the conditions for mass production.
Together with the earlier successful disassembly witness meeting for the capacitor prototype used in the Changzhou Borui Project held on September 3, all three technical solutions developed by Sun.King for the Gansu-Zhejiang Project have now passed the most rigorous testing and verification, marking a significant milestone achievement.
The successful completion of these tests represents a major technological breakthrough for Sun.King Technology in the field of core flexible DC transmission equipment, laying a solid foundation for the smooth construction and long-term reliable operation of China’s first ±800kV full-capacity UHV flexible DC transmission project—the Gansu-Zhejiang Project. This accomplishment further strengthens China’s independent and controllable capabilities in high-end power equipment, accelerates the localization of the flexible DC transmission industry chain, and highlights Sun.King’s end-to-end competence from advanced R&D to large-scale project delivery.
