CPEEC & CPSSC | Beyond the “Chip”!

Date: 2025-11-12

On November 7, 2025, the 4th China Power Electronics and Energy Conversion Conference & Exhibition (CPEEC) and the 28th Annual Conference of the China Power Supply Society (CPSSC 2025) opened grandly at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.

Following the strong recognition earned at last year’s Xi’an event, Sun.King Semiconductor once again participated as a Platinum Partner, showcasing a comprehensive product portfolio that spans from chips to modules. Highlights included 1200V and the newly released 1400V SiC chips, the next-generation TF-packaged IGBT modules, advanced 8-inch SiC chips, discrete device packaging demonstrations, brushless motor application solutions, and 6-inch SiC wafers — delivering an all-in-one technology experience under the theme “Innovation Empowering Industrial Needs.” The exhibition reflected Sun.King Semiconductor’s deep integration into Shenzhen’s innovation ecosystem.

As China’s largest annual event in the power supply industry, this year’s CPEEC & CPSSC featured a strong blend of “global vision and industrial application.” Over 140 leading enterprises gathered at the venue, while the “New Energy Vehicle Electronic Devices” pavilion ran in parallel with the IEEE International Symposium, attracting more than 5,000 professional visitors. Sun.King Semiconductor’s booth drew continuous crowds with its flagship products such as HEEV-packaged SiC modules, ED-packaged IGBTs, ST-packaged IGBT modules, and i23 chipsets, perfectly addressing technical demands in new energy vehicles, energy storage, industrial control, and charging systems.

At the concurrent technical forum, Mr. Maxian Kui, Director of Technical Support and Marketing, delivered a presentation titled “Power Module Selection for Grid-Forming Energy Storage Converters.” Focusing on the broader context of building a new power system, he analyzed the pivotal role of grid-forming storage technologies in the energy transition — not only as the foundation for grid stability but also as a key enabler for large-scale renewable energy integration. He emphasized that modern power modules must meet the combined requirements of high performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

In response to these demands, Sun.King Semiconductor has launched its new-generation trench-gate IGBT module (i23), designed to reduce losses and enhance current output capability. Mr. Ma also called for the early establishment of technical standards for grid-forming storage converters to support the rapid growth of the energy storage market and ensure its orderly development.

To address challenges such as junction temperature rise and increased losses under high overload conditions, Sun.King’s new i23 chipset adopts micro-trench gate structures and soft-recovery diodes, effectively reducing conduction and switching losses. Technologies such as copper wire bonding, optimized DBC design, and direct liquid-cooling packaging significantly improve current output and thermal performance.

As an industry leader, Sun.King Semiconductor offers a range of power modules suitable for centralized and string-type energy storage converters, including the 1200V ED series and FP-packaged modules. These cover mainstream topologies such as ANPC and NPC, featuring low stray inductance, high short-circuit endurance, and excellent thermal characteristics — meeting the diverse application needs of grid-forming PCS systems.

Mr. Ma’s deep industry insights and vivid case studies resonated strongly with experts, scholars, and industry peers, sparking lively discussions. His speech received widespread acclaim and highlighted the industry’s growing focus on this technological direction, as well as Sun.King Semiconductor’s continuous commitment to professional excellence.

Notably, thanks to the report’s technical depth, practical relevance, and forward-looking perspective, Mr. Ma was honored as an “Outstanding Speaker” at the Industrial Reports Sub-Forum. This recognition not only affirms his professional expertise but also acknowledges Sun.King Semiconductor’s sustained dedication to R&D in power electronics and energy storage technologies.

From the technical showcase in Xi’an to industrial collaboration in Shenzhen, Sun.King Semiconductor continues to advance in step with China’s power electronics industry. Amid the global transition to green energy, the company is working hand in hand with industry partners to shape the blueprint for a new power system.
